THE golden Daimler ('Gold Car') was the first of five iconic vehicles inspired by Lady Docker between 1951 and 1955 when her husband, Sir Bernard, was chairman of Daimler and its parent company BSA.

All five were based on a Daimler chassis with bodywork by Hooper Co., another BSA subsidiary.
