PROPOSALS to offset the carbon footprint of TDs' trips abroad were last night dismissed as nothing more than 'window dressing'.

The scheme will cost around e500,000 a year, with the money being used to buy carbon credits, which will offset the emissions created by the numerous foreign trips taken by Government ministers and their advisors.
