GREG RUSEDSKI'S resurgent form continued last night when he beat former Australian Open finalist Thomas Enqvist 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the Cincinnati Masters.

Rusedski, who won his first title for more than a year in Newport last month, had to come through the gruelling qualifying competition to earn his chance to play the Swede but the two matches he won en route gave him an advantage. His efforts over the weekend meant he was acclimatised to the heat and he took advantage when Enqvist wilted. Delighted Rusedski said: 'I've come back and started playing the way I used to play.' Fellow Brit Arvind Parmar gave world No 4 Carlos Moya a scare. He led by a set and a break before succumbing 3- 6, 7-5, 6-2.
