SCOTLAND'S longest-serving manager has warned the Old Firm that their title duopoly could end as early as next season if they continue to downsize in player recruitment. Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies believes a team is ready to emerge from the SPL pack to become the first champions from outside Glasgow since Sir Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen in 1985.

Delivering his stark assessment ahead of his team's trip to Celtic Park tomorrow, where Killie haven't won since 1955, Jefferies said there was no longer an Old Firm fear factor now the big two are wrestling with harsh financial realities.
