SCOTLAND could face another disaster on the scale of the Stockline factory explosion - because 'weak' health and safety chiefs have failed to learn crucial lessons, a judge warned yesterday.

Nine workers died and a further 33 were seriously injured when the plastics plant was destroyed in a gas explosion five years ago. But Lord Gill, who chaired a year-long public inquiry into the tragedy, yesterday revealed that Health and Safety Executive (HSE) chiefs had so far failed to introduce any reforms to prevent another catastrophe.
