BELFAST Zoo has launched a bid to identify a mystery woman who looked after an elephant in her back yard during the Blitz of 1941.

The Ministry of Public Security ordered 23 zoo animals to be killed in case they escaped and attacked people, including a tiger, a lynx and six wolves.
