THE Cork County Board meet tonight to end Teddy Hollands short reign as county football manager. After a three-hour meeting with the Cork county board executive yesterday, Holland and his four selectors, Diarmuid ODonovan, Liam Hodnett, Mick OLoughlin and Teddy McCarthy refused to resign on principle, forcing the board to convene tonight to vote them out of office.
After yesterdays meeting at Pairc Ui Rinn, Cork board PRO Bob Ryan emerged to say that an agreement had been reached with, in a momentary but revealing slip the outgoing management team, which was interpreted in some quarters that the executive had secured their resignation. However, Holland and his selectors were adamant that they would not resign and an agreement is believed to have been reached with the executive on the wording of a motion that will go before tonights meeting that will end their reign in charge of the Cork footballers, without ever having taken charge of a single game.
