A DEAL to rescue Great Leighs is understood to have been accepted in principle by administrators Deloitte.

Racemail understands that a consortium that had an earlier offer to take over the course rejected have returned with added financial assurances. The consortium is believed to include the track's original owner John Holmes in a less prominent role. Having a viable bid in place is vital to Great Leighs, which has not raced since January, ahead of Monday's British Horseracing Authority board meeting.
