Summary
WHILE serving with an RAF Regiment Squadron in Afghanistan at the end of 2007, we had the pleasure of a visit from Bob Ainsworth MP. In the seven minutes we basked in his lowwattage glow, he informed us that 24 hours before he visited our unit, he had never heard of the RAF Regiment. He then proceeded to tell us what a great job we were doing. Thanks for that.
At the time, he'd been Armed Forces Minister for a few months, a period in which five RAF Regiment gunners had been killed. What was he doing to fill his days? Obviously not taking notice of the casualty reports landing in his in tray.See the full content of this document
