The Birth Mother

KATE CARY, 55, works for a pharmaceutical company. Once married to former Radio Luxembourg DJ Chris Cary with whom she has a daughter Louise, 34, she is now divorced and lives in a six-bedroom Victorian house in Surrey. She says: THE last time I saw my daughter Debbie, she was being taken to a car in a red and white carrycot. It was a summer's day and I stood in the huge bay window of the mother- and-baby home silently crying, wondering if I would ever see her darling face again.
