WHEN a cousin wanted somewhere to stay on a Christmas shopping blitz (only 64 days to go) with his wife in London, I came up with Myhotel in Chelsea. It's within walking distance of every conceivable designer store and there's no shortage of smart bars and restaurants.

Trouble was, I had never actually slept there - although an American woman who works for a New York gallery told me it was 'fabulously cutting edge'.
