THERE must be a better way for Professor Sikora to make his case for more priority for prostate cancer than to attack spending on HIV/ Aids and breast cancer (Mail).

I was Health Secretary in 1986 when we launched the Don't Die Of Ignorance campaign because knowledge of the disease was then dangerously inadequate. There was no cure. Aids was a death sentence. The one action we could take was to warn the public of the dangers and this we did.
