Summary
PRAISE for Signor Silvio Berlusconi's almost bankrupt Italy (Letters) is at odds with the country I've just visited. Like most nations subject to the EU stranglehold, Italy seems to survive despite the government and not because of it.
The country is swamped with illegal immigrants and petty thieves. As for respect for history and culture, Rome in particular has allowed modern developments to ruin ancient monuments and the whole city is covered in graffiti, from the border of the Vatican to all around the Coliseum.See the full content of this document
