Summary
Given the number of difficult teenagers around, it is surprising anyone chooses to have children in the first place. Emmerdale's 15- year-old Debbie has just given birth, and EastEnders' Demi (who had a baby at 13) is planning to run away with Leo. In Hollyoaks, if you don't have a tough life as a teenager, you are a freak, and Coronation Street's Rosie is hilariously growing into the sublime teenager from hell. She is still dressing and making-up as a Goth, to the despair of Sally, who has spent a fortune on her private education.
Soap's youngsters have always been difficult. Coronation Street's Tracy was a monstrous teenager who grew into a monstrous adult, and the teenage Steve was never out of trouble.
