GLEN JOHNSON allowed his mind to drift towards the Champions League and smiled broadly at the thought of playing against Jose Mourinho's Inter MIlan. 'That would be interesting,' he mused. 'Very interesting. Let's hope, eh?' Liverpool's Pounds 17million signing, axed by Mourinho at Chelsea, insisted there is no lingering resentment towards his former boss but admitted there could be no better way of proving him wrong than facing him as first-choice right back for one of the Barclays Premier League's top four clubs.

He enjoyed that distinction at Stamford Bridge before Mourinho consigned him to the outer reaches of the squad to make way for new arrival Paulo Ferreira.
