TROUBLED dry cleaning and workwear firm Johnson Service (down 2p at 42p) has won some much needed breathing space as it bids to secure its financial future.

The firm, which trades as Johnsons and Jeeves of Belgravia, negotiated a waiver from its banks after recent warnings it could breach covenants. The agreement came at a price as the banks will now have security over Johnson's assets.
