THE return of the prodigal son will add a special spice to the 40th running of the Annual Ras Na hEireann international cross- country at Oldbridge on the outskirts of Drogheda tomorrow.

Special permission has been granted by the Office of Public Works to run the race on the historic site of the Battle of the Boyne, with athletes from up to half a dozen countries adding mystique to the race that was founded by the legendary Larry McGuill in the late '60s.
