THE BBC's radio Children's Hour, by now passing itself off under the self-consciously 'with it' title Go4it, is to be axed -- the last children's show to be aired on mainstream radio, the Beeb having discovered that its listeners' average age was over 50.
I was an eager part of Children's Hour's audience from the age of ten when we acquired our first, accumulatordriven wireless set.
