A DRIVER accused of knocking down and killing two emergency workers had enough distance to bring his car to a halt, even if he was travelling at 92mph, a court has heard.

Niall Shannon, Lenamore, Ballylongford, Co. Kerry, was driving at a speed of up to 44mph when his car struck Garda Brian Kelleher before hitting fireman Michael Liston, a jury at his trial was told yesterday.
