A LAPDANCING club in an affluent commuter town was destroyed in a massive blaze yesterday, three weeks after opening amid fierce opposition.

Angry locals mounted an internet campaign and letterwriting blitz to protest at the arrival of Club Redd in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. But the local Tory council said it was powerless to act because of the relaxation of licensing laws in 2003.
