A BRITISH astronomer has found a planet larger than any yet known - and it is travelling backwards around its star.

The gigantic world is twice the size of Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, but unlike any seen before it is orbiting its home sun in the opposite direction to which the star is spinning.
