HOPES were raised that tomorrow's proposed pilots' strike will be abandoned when Aer Lingus invited union bosses to talks last night.

Aer Lingus chief Dermot Mannion wrote to The Irish Air Line Pilots' Association (IALPA) yesterday asking them to join discussions to alleviate their concerns surrounding the establishment of a new base in Belfast.
