NO one is suggesting that John Terry's appearance in a dodgem car on Friday had anything to do with the back injury that ruled him out of Chelsea's match at Everton less than 48 hours later.

It sounds a bit dodgy, it has to be said, and anyone who's ever been shunted from behind by a large man who refuses to let the little boy beside him drive will know how painful it can be. But yesterday any attempt to link the two events was dismissed as nothing more than coincidence.
