MILLIONS of Irish and European air passengers will be denied cheaper flights due to an expected European ban on Ryanair's bid to take over Aer Lingus, it was claimed last night.

Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary yesterday attacked a pending European Commission decision to stop his low-cost airline from taking over Aer Lingus, and vowed to appeal to the European Court.
