RYANAIR is in talks with Boeing and Airbus over an order of 200 planes for as much as $7bn - effectively a half-price deal - with delivery starting in 2013.

The airline is looking to repeat its coup from 2001, when it scooped up aircraft at bargain prices, as the global travel market went into a spin following the 9/11 attacks.
