QUESTION Talk Radio host Alan Brazil said he was in the audience at The Palladium when he saw Tommy Cooper collapse. Michael Parkinson, in his autobiography, also states Tommy died at the Palladium. Are they correct?

TOMMY died on the stage of Her Majesty's Theatre in London's Haymarket, not at the Palladium, during a live transmission of LWT's popular variety series Live From Her Majesty's, on April 15, 1984.

It Was Just Like That ... ; Answers to Correspondents [Scot Region Edition 2]

I know this because I was a gagwriter on the series and, along with my fellow writers and the show's host Jimmy Tarbuck, I was standing in the wings of the theatre when Tommy collapsed.

Tommy was due to close the first part of the show, following Jimmy's opening monologue and performances of comedian Adrian Walsh and chart stars The Flying Pickets.
