ITS THE best thing to ever happen in this community, because its lifted everyone up. Thats how one local resident of Moyross in Limerick described the first-ever live crib and Nativity festival held in the area. Organised by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, the play has put a smile on the face of an area which is too often in the media for all the wrong reasons.
The Friars, who arrived in August after being invited by the Bishop of Limerick, Dr Donal Murray, have been a breath of fresh air in the community. Their work is largely spiritual, but locals have warmed to the new arrivals, so much so that the monks were awarded the Limerick person of the month award for November.See the full content of this document
