THE Lions' 10-match schedule for next year's New Zealand tour threatens to cause a row over the release of English-based players.

The six-week trip, starting in Rotorua on the first Saturday of June and finishing with the final Test in Auckland on the second Saturday of July, will be the shortest ever undertaken to the country, but it will not be short enough for the 12 Zurich Premiership clubs.
