CRAIG MacLEAN became the first Briton since Reg Harris 50 years ago to win a medal in the men's sprint at track cycling's World Championships in Bordeaux yesterday.

The 34-year-old's silver medal signalled an end to two years of injuries and illness as he proved superior to all but Holland's Theo Bos.
