THE language people use to slander their enemies often says a great deal about themselves so when Aer Lingus calls the planned strike by its pilots an attack on customers and an act of self- centred brinkmanship, it quite shamelessly is also describing itself.
Because an attack on customers would be an extraordinarily accurate description of what Aer Lingus has done to the 320,000 people who annually use the Shannon to Heathrow service the company has arbitrarily moved to Belfast. Inconveniencing people for two days of a strike is really rather small potatoes when compared with depriving them forever of access to Europes biggest international hub so, as attacks on consumers go, the pilots action is like being stabbed with a banana while Aer Lingus wields a claymore.See the full content of this document
