ALEX MCLEISH hailed James McFadden as a potential [pounds]5million bargain, but insists he needs to prove his worth on a more regular basis. The Birmingham striker eyes a first-team return today against his former club Everton after missing the past three weeks following a knee operation. The St Andrew's boss raised a few eyebrows when he bought McFadden during the January transfer window, but insisted: 'In Premier League terms, he's probably a bargain. James has shown that he is promising to be a player worth much more than that. I always said we needed an extra bit of quality and he has provided that. I'm glad we got him.'
