THOSE of us who worked in munitions in the war deserve a medal as much as anyone (Mail).

I worked in a factory which had previously been German-owned, so they knew exactly where to drop their bombs. One night, on the way back from our midnight break, the siren sounded and we were all heading for the shelter, singing You Are My Sunshine, when a bomb hit the paraffin wash.
