MINISTERS are going ahead with controversial plans for gay adoption, despite a consultation showing almost nine out of ten Scots are opposed to it.

In an extraordinary admission yesterday, the Scottish Executive said it knew the public were against the plans but insisted homosexual couples should be allowed to adopt anyway.
