- THE Monaco Yacht Show is so over-subscribed that no fewer than 50 vessels worth e1billion have had to be moored outside the harbour. Showboats International magazine reports an 18 per cent rise in orders for mega-yachts. F Scott Fitzgerald says in The Great Gatsby: 'The rich are different from you and me.' Ernest Hemingway replied to his pal: 'Yes, they have more money.' - PRIAPIC magazine publisher Felix Dennis, 61, pictured, has issued an 'eagerly awaited' - they don't say by whom - book of poems. (continues for another five delightful verses). Somehow they got novelist Tom Wolfe to say on the cover: 'Marvellous stuff...a 21st century Kipling.' The cake-maker rather than the poet, presumably.

- FIRST day back at the Dail always resembles the first day back at school, with newly rejuvenated TDs making the effort to turn up for once in the chamber. Give it three weeks and they'll be smoking behind the bike shed when they ought to be at their desks.
