On show at next months Geneva Motor Show, it has had a nose-job that gives it a bold new front with the three-pointed Mercedes-Benz star firmly to the fore. The company says the look has been influenced by the distinctive wide radiator grilles of earlier SL Roadsters. The design can be traced back to the 300 SL Gullwing of 1954, which was followed three years later by the first SL Roadster. So far, the German car-maker has produced more than 630,000 SL sports cars. Mercedes-Benz is also preparing a new gull-winged supercar the SLC for release in 2010. Only 5,000 are expected to be sold, with prices said to stretch from Pounds 80,000 to six figures.
