Summary
OUR MPs have now started their 12-week summer break. It beggars belief that Westminster is virtually closed for this long period when there are so many crises to be addressed. The country has never been in such need of immediate and urgent action on several fronts, and it is unthinkable that so many priorities can be put on hold for three whole months.
Our troops are dying in Afghanistan. There is an epidemic of swine flu which is out of control. Businesses are going to the wall. The country is in a mess. What would happen to an ailing business if the board of directors disappeared for 12 weeks?
