A MAN who spent eight years in prison for the murder of a pensioner walked free yesterday after judges quashed his conviction.

Ian John Lawless, 47, of Grimsby, was jailed for life in February 2002 after a jury found him and another man guilty of killing 67- year-old Alfred Wilkins.
