RANGERS chairman Sir David Murray last night urged the rest of the SPL to back a bold Old Firm television plan which he insists will provide better value than the five-year deal tabled by ESPN and Sky.

The Ibrox hierarchy have held talks with their Parkhead counterparts over an audacious scheme to take control of the top flight's TV rights, with a variety of models -- some subscription- based -- being investigated ahead of discussions at tomorrow's SPL annual general meeting.
