Summary
HERE comes the season of goodwill, and first on the list of traditions for me is writing the cards. My three boxes promise some variety and I dig out my list of the greetings I received last year. Now, armed with a tot of spirit that has nothing to do with the Christmas one - as yet - I pick up my pen.
I don't like to be mean at this joyous time, but money is tight and one has to draw the line somewhere. I whittle my list down to sections: Relatives, Old Friends, New Friends and Others. The last section includes my husband's friends, the unsolicited cards from people I met on holiday four years ago, my daughter's best friend who has never forgotten the cup of coffee I made her a long time ago, and our paper boy, angling for a tip.See the full content of this document
