ITALY jumped back up to second spot in Group B as they claimed a priceless away win that could kill off Ukraines hopes of reaching the Euro 2008 Finals. Udinese striker Antonio di Natale was the Italian hero as he struck twice to move his side above bitter enemies France and to within a point of shock group leaders Scotland. Roberto Donadonis side were booed off the pitch in Milan at the weekend after a 0-0 draw with France left their qualification hopes in danger.
But they bounced back in style in Ukraine and now sit ominously behind the Scots with three games left to play. Ukraine knew a victory would throw them right back into the qualification mix and a crowd of 42,000 turned out to cheer them on in Kiev. But they couldnt find a way past the well-drilled Azzurri defence and Italy got their noses in front five minutes before the break.
