NEW Star, the fund management business founded by multimillionaire John Duffield, is heading for a Pounds 400m stock market float this autumn.

It is likely to value Duffield's 20pc personal stake at around Pounds 80m. The ebullient tycoon has already made a fortune of at least Pounds 175m from his first investment venture Jupiter where he created 100 millionaires among his staff including his former secretary Angela Hudson.
