Somehow, this didn't seem the right moment to point out that there weren't any trees to climb. The burntorange Namibian desert, stretching for countless hundreds of empty miles in every direction, throws up the odd thorny shrub.

But trees?

Nothing thicker than a broomstick.

And now, with the animal's enormous feet beginning to thump the ground impatiently, I was wondering which of us would run first. Not Saba, that much...
