BARONESS Scotland provoked outrage last night after comparing her breach of immigration law with a minor motoring offence.

'It's like driving into the City and not paying the congestion charge,' she said. 'It is not a criminal offence. I made an administrative, technical error for which I am bitterly, bitterly sorry.' Gordon Brown was accused of 'breathtaking complacency' for not sacking the Attorney General on the spot.
