DAMIEN RICHARDSON became the fourth high-profile managerial casualty of December when he formally parted company with Cork City yesterday. Richardson left with a smile and a golden handshake estimated at EUR 60,000 after a three-and-a-half-hour meeting between their respective legal teams.

Both sides agreed to a confidentiality clause but it is understood Richardson, who argued he had been verbally offered a two- year deal by the club last season, was satisfied with the settlement terms.
