NEARLY 30pc of big City shareholders in caterer Compass refused to back the Pounds 3.7m pay package of chief executive Michael Bailey.
The rebuke is the latest protest over pay at this year's company annual meetings. WH Smith and Allied Domecq suffered sizeable revolt votes. A total of 26.1pc of Compass shareholders voted against its pay policy, and 3.7pc abstained. Bailey earned Pounds 910,000 basic pay last year and a bonus of Pounds 1.59m.
