AN 80-year-old preacher went on trial yesterday over the Ku Klux Klan murders of three civil rights campaigners 41 years ago.
The ambush and shooting of the men were featured in the 1988 film Mississippi Burning. Edgar Ray Killen was one of 18 men charged in 1967 with conspiring to violate the three's civil rights.
