They fantasised about killing hundreds of innocent strangers whose only 'crime' was to be British.

They discussed blowing up the House of Commons, hijacking airliners for a 9/11-style attack, poisoning beer and burgers at football matches and even buying a nuclear bomb from the Russian mafia.

Eventually they settled on a plan to bomb the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent or the Ministry of Sound nightclub in London using a remote- controlled explosive containing 1,300lb of fertiliser.
