RARE red kite chicks have hatched in Aberdeenshire for the first time in almost 150 years.

The birds, once a common sight across Scotland, were hunted to extinction. But in 2007, the Aberdeen Red Kites project released 30 of the birds of prey in the North-East. Another 35 were introduced last year.
