DARREN MACKIE would have thought you were crazy this time last year had you told him that, 12 months down the line, he would be going into a Rangers game as Aberdeen's top scorer determined to fire the Dons back into Europe. He was on his way out of Pittodrie after being transfer-listed by Steve Paterson as the club found themselves entrenched near the bottom of the SPL with only the ill- fated Partick Thistle saving their skins. Changed days, indeed. The arrival of Jimmys Calderwood and Nicholl salvaged Mackie's career.
