PADDY O'Rourke is the new Armagh football manager.
The former Down All-Ireland winning captain has been chosen on a threeyear term to succeed Peter McDonnell, bringing to an end what has been a problematic search for a new manager. It is believed that O'Rourke was the players' choice and the county board's under-fire bosses were left with no other alternative than to back the players' judgment.
